Information on upcoming Costa Rica trip

Lucy Forster

Science teachers Cathy Laurencig and Chris Lane will be taking a group of students to Costa Rica in the summer of 2015 from June 18-26. The trip is for biology and environmental systems, but any interested student may go.

While on the trip the students will be learning about the forests in Costa Rica, and they will be helping to maintain them. “We will be replanting mangrove trees and learning more about forests through that,” Laurencig said.

The cost of the trip is $2,800, which includes other activities outside of the replanting. “We will be kayaking and ziplining as well as going to a waterfall, hot spring and crocodile farm,” Laurencig said.

If you are interested in the trip there is an informational meeting  this Monday at 6 p.m. in room 3110. Follow the link for a full itinerary of the trip and an informational video.
