Pingpong fans of Portage Central grab your paddles and head on down to Pingpong Club next Thursday. This new club meets from 3:00-4:30 every Thursday in the auditorium lobby.

The club was active in previous years, except for a hiatus last year. With help from junior Andrew Walsh, the club is now up and running once again.

“It is open to everyone on Thursdays in the auditorium lobby”, Walsh said. “Right now we do not have a lot of people because it is a brand new club and the only way people are hearing about it is through the announcements.”

Walsh is the student leader of the club and has made the club what it is today. He and his friends are not only doing it for their love of the sport, but for the IB Diploma, as well.

“I brought this club back partly because we need CAS hours for the IB Diploma and making a club was a good way to get those”, Walsh said.

Next time you have no plans on Thursday after school or want to challenge fellow friends in an intense game of table tennis, Pingpong Club will be open.
