"Today we stood with the students of this country to show that silence is and always will be, complicity." - Senior Christina Cincilla

On Wednesday, March 14, at 10 a.m., students stood up to walk out of class in protest against school shootings and gun violence. This “walk out” was a nation-wide event, involving hundreds of schools and even more students across the country in a unified act to stand with victims of school shootings and make a change. Students lined the side of Westnedge Ave. for 17 minutes, one minute for each victim of the Florida school shooting. Each photo in the above slideshow is presented with a caption capturing some memorable statements made by various members of the Portage Central community.
